# New report

## To File a New Report:

Harvard University contracts with a respected third-party provider who staffs and manages the Hotline 24 hours a day. Please visit our [About the Hotline](/about-hotline) web page to learn more about the reporting process.

### There are two ways to report:

You may submit a [report online via this website](https://secure.ethicspoint.com/Domain/media/en/gui/50047/index.html?clientid=50047&locationid=-1&override=yes&agreement=no%20), where you will be directed to a form that will ask you to answer a series of questions so that we can better understand your concern. If you choose, you may remain anonymous when reporting online. The third-party provider does not collect IP addresses or any other identifying information.

If you are not able, or do not feel comfortable reporting online, you may call the Anonymous Reporting Hotline and speak with a trained communications specialist who will ask you a series of questions to better understand the nature of your concern. No call tracing or recording devices are ever used, and if you wish, you may remain anonymous.

Communication specialists are experts in both collecting the right information on incidents and making sure you are protected. They will never take sides and will act only as unbiased, third-party professionals concerned with your best interests.

## How Harvard is Notified of Your Report

Your report will be sent directly to a designated team at Harvard who will review your concerns and if necessary, follow-up. If a report names any member of that team, the report will be redirected to an alternate official.

## Important Information about Your Report

When you submit your report online, or at the end of your call, you will be issued a unique Report Key and asked to create a password. **Please write the Report Key and password down and keep them in a safe place**. You will need them to login or call in to receive updates, answer questions, ask questions or provide additional information related to your report. **This is especially important if you opt to remain anonymous, as messaging in the hotline case file is the only way we will be able to communicate with you.**
